Give the row one point for each check it passes. Keep 6–7 point rows as shortlist candidates, research 4–5 point rows, and remove 0–3 point rows unless new evidence appears.

The seven-point checklist

  • The item belongs in the category I am browsing.
  • Photos show the details that matter for this product type.
  • Sizing, measurements, or fit notes are visible when needed.
  • Price makes sense beside similar finds.
  • Shipping weight does not ruin the value.
  • The row is not just hype or a vague label.
  • I can explain why I would save this find.

QC photos by category

Shoes and sneakers

Look for side profile, toe shape, heel, outsole, stitching, interior label, and a useful size reference.

Clothing

Look for front, back, seams, print or embroidery detail, fabric texture, labels, and measurements laid flat.

Bags and accessories

Look for dimensions, hardware, closures, lining, strap attachments, edges, and an image that shows scale.

Watches and jewelry

Look for case or item dimensions, thickness, clasp or closure, surface finish, and clear material wording.

A large photo set is not automatically useful. The right angles and measurements matter more than the number of images.

Good row and weak row examples

Good pants row: 6/7

The item fits the category; front, back, seam, and fabric photos are present; the chart shows waist, rise, inseam, and leg opening in centimeters; price sits beside comparable rows; weight is noted; and the source link matches. The only missing detail is a fit note.

Weak pants row: 2/7

The category is clear and the link resolves, but the row has one distant photo, an unexplained size label, no weight clue, no comparison context, and a vague promotional note instead of evidence.

One-sentence save rule

Save a row only when you can state the product type, the evidence it gives you, and the remaining question you know how to check.

What to do next

Use the QC photo article to define the right views, the shipping-weight guide to test apparent value, and the shortlist template to preserve the reason behind a saved row.
